In order to obtain a visa to Burkina Faso applicants should provide the following:

Tourist Visa

1. Valid, signed U.S. passport. Must be valid for at least 6 months after departing and contain at least one blank visa page.
2. 2 Passport-type photographs
3. 2 filled out visa application forms
4. Printed and filled out order form.

Business Visa

1. Valid, signed U.S. passport. Must be valid for at least 6 months after departing and contain at least one blank visa page.
2. 2 Passport-type photographs
3. 2 filled out visa application forms
4. Printed and filled out order form.
5. A business letter of responsibility is required, to be typewritten on your company letterhead and addressed to: Embassy of Burkina Faso, Visa Section, Washington DC
The letter must explain all of the following:
• Nature of business to be performed
• Name and address of reference to be visited
• Guarantee of return Transportation and sufficient funds for the visit.
• The letter should be signed by an officer of the company other than the applicant.

Fees and proccessing time

Fees: $130.00 (3 months multiple entries visa), Fees: $155.00 (6 months multiple entries visa). Precessing time: 3 business days.

Additional Information

Visa is valid for a maximum stay of three months or six months. It may be extended, but this must be arranged in the country by contacting the General Office of the National Police in Ouagadougou. Vaccinations: inoculation against yellow fever is required. A cholera vaccination is recommended, and may be required in the event of an outbreak. Be aware that it is unlawful to photograph airports, military camps, and the vicinity of government offices.
