In order to obtain a visa to Burma (Myanmar) applicants should provide the following:

Tourist visa

1. Valid, signed U.S. passport. Must be valid for at least 6 months after departing and contain at least one blank visa page
2. 3 passport-type photographs
3. 2 filled out visa application forms
4. Printed and filled out order form.
5. Copy of round trip airline tickets or itinerary, or letter of confirmation from travel agent
6. International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever

Business visa

1. Valid, signed U.S. passport. Must be valid for at least 6 months after departing and contain at least one blank visa page
2. 3 passport-type photographs
3. 2 filled out visa application forms
4. Printed and filled out order form.
5. International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever.
6. A business letter of responsibility is required, to be typewritten on your company letterhead and addressed to: Embassy of Burma, Visa Section, Washington, D.C.
The letter must explain:
• Nature of business to be performed;
• Name and address of reference to be visited;
• Guarantee of return transportation and sufficient funds for the visit.
• The letter should be signed by an officer of the company other than the applicant.

Visa Fees And Processing Time

Fee: $60.00 (Tourist visas), Fee: $70.00 (Business visas). Processing time: 5 business days.

Additional information

The Entry Tourist Visa is valid for a stay of exactly 4 weeks (28days) and not extendable. The Business Visa is valid for a stay of 4 weeks. At the request of the applicant and the Company concerned, the Business visa could be granted for up to 10 weeks. The Multiple Journey Entry Business Visa may be applied with US$200 and the reason for applying MJEV must be submitted.
