In order to obtain a visa to Ethiopia applicants should provide the following:
Tourist visa
- Valid, signed U.S. passport. Must be valid for at least 6 months after departing and contain at least one blank visa page.
- 1 passport-type photograph.
- 1 filled out visa application form
- Printed and filled out order form.
- Copy of round trip airline ticket or itinerary.
Business visa
- Valid, signed U.S. passport. Must be valid for at least 6 months after departing and contain at least one blank visa page.
- 1 passport-type photograph.
- 1 filled out visa application form
- Printed and filled out order form.
- Copy of round trip airline ticket or itinerary.
- A business letter of responsibility is required, to be typewritten on your company letterhead and addressed to: Embassy of Ethiopia, Visa Section, Washington, D.C.
The letter must explain:
- Nature of business to be performed;
- Name and address of reference to be visited;
- Guarantee of return transportation and sufficient funds for the visit.
- The letter should be signed by an officer of the company other than the applicant.

Additional information
Tourist or business visa is usually valid for multiple entries within 90 days only from date of issue for a stay up to 24 months or as permitted by immigration officials.
